So it’s been a long hiatus. Obvious understatement about everything that’s happened in the last year. And while we believe that the distance was ultimately for the best, we have missed all of our local dancers immeasurably. But with an abundance of patience we get to open our doors and see you all again! Our first dance will be on July 8th! Even though we are coming back, things are going to be different.

First, because of renovations and repairs at Lloyd Shaw, we will be hosting our Thursday night dances at a new location while our old facility is inaccessible. The new address is right nearby, though. Check our our calendar for the new location.

Next, we will be following New Mexico’s guidelines for safely resuming activities in indoor spaces. Since we are not opening until July, we will be able to open at full capacity, but we have new mask restrictions for participating in our Thursday dances. For full details see our covid-restrictions page.

Here’s the quick-read of the restrictions. Masks are optional for fully vaccinated individuals. All attendees of the dance must provide proof of vaccination in order to be allowed to remove their mask. This proof only needs to be done once. We will accept physical or digital copies of the CDC vaccination cards or NMDOH vaccine records. Any digital copy must be clear enough to read the name and vaccination dates; we must also have a photo of the whole card, no partial images. Please DO NOT email digital copies of vaccination cards. We do not use an end-to-end encrypted email service so this is not secure.

Any unvaccinated individual is welcome to attend but must wear a mask properly (over mouth and nose) during the duration of the event. Masks that have vents or obvious holes are not acceptable. If we deem a mask unacceptable we will provide an alternative that can be worn. Any individual that does not show proof of vaccination and refuses to wear a mask will be asked to leave. Anyone asked to leave can return for any future event as long as they follow all restrictions when attending future events.

We hope to see you all soon!
