COVID Restrictions

To ensure the safety of all of our dancers we will abide by the current New Mexico state gathering restrictions. Starting on July 1st, there will no longer be occupancy restrictions so we can operate at full capacity, however the guidelines still require masks for unvaccinated individuals in indoor spaces. As such, we will be requiring all unvaccinated individuals to wear a mask during the duration of the dance. All masks must be worn properly, in which the mask covers both the mouth and the nose. Masks must not contain noticeable holes or vents. If a SouthWesties ABQ official or volunteer determines that the mask does not meet our standards, we will provide a replacement, free of charge, that the violator can wear.

Any unvaccinated person that takes off their mask and refuses to put it on after instructed to do so by a SouthWesties ABQ official or volunteer will be asked to leave and not return for the duration of the event. They are welcome to participate in any other SouthWesties ABQ events if they abide by the restrictions.

All vaccinated persons are not required to wear masks, as per the new state ordinance, however we will be checking vaccination status to ensure the health and safety of all of our patrons. In order to demonstrate that a person is vaccinated, a SouthWesties ABQ official or volunteer must be shown either

  • a CDC vaccination card (or multiple cards) listing the name of the vaccinated individual and the date of both shots (for Moderna or Pfizer) or a single vaccination date (for Johnson & Johnson).
  • a NMDOH vaccination record listing the name of the individual and the date of both shots (for Moderna or Pfizer) or a single vaccination date (for Johnson & Johnson).
  • a high-quality digital copy of either of the above. An elligible “high-quality” photo is a photo of sufficient quality to adequately see the the name of the vaccinated individual, the date of both shots (for Moderna or Pfizer) or a single vaccination date (for Johnson & Johnson), and the entire card or cards must be visible.

Proof of vaccination only needs to be done once per individual. We will keep a record so returning attendees do not need to provide proof of vaccination every time they visit.

Please DO NOT email digital copies of vaccination records to us. We do not use end-to-end encrypted email, so we do not have the necessary secure infrastructure for storing digital copies of vaccination records.
